Did you enjoy the Blog Hop? I just love the pages the Design Team and Guests prepared. Scrap and Stamp Saturday is a great place to get the mojo flowing and to work towards completing your albums by inspiring you through sweet samples, cool challenges, and some pretty awesome sketches. We hope that you continue to visit us and we'd love to see your pages!!

This weekend was an awesome weekend! We had the blog hop, my son came home for the weekend, the Saints won the Superbowl, my family was snowed in together and we spent the weekend, eating, visiting, playing and lounging!! I spent quite a bit of time in my craft room this weekend since the internet was out and I couldn't be distracted by looking at all of your wonderful works!

Here's a sample of what I can do when I'm not distracted:

I have a new friend who lives in Africa - Cariena and this card is for her. When I saw the giraffe over at I Brake For Stamps I just had to get it. I picked up a peacock and some elephants to that you will see later on.  I brayered my sunset and used beading wire to create my little dangles. I am really diggin' how this turned out. What do you think Cariena?

1st Post: Scrap and Stamp Saturday Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge is in addition to the Blog Hop happening this weekend too. So much to do over at Scrap and Stamp Saturday! The challenge this week was an image/color challenge and boy oh boy was it a challenge for me LOL I don't usually do teenage girl pages and the inspiration this week screamed teenage girl to me!

Since I don't run in those circles LOL all boys all the time - I had to borrow photos from my best friend of her daughter and this was the best I could come up with. Jessa is just too sweet and pretty for skulls although I have seen her in some pretty funny clothes and she has definitely had her heart broke. But this is how I see Jessa based on the inspiration given.

I hope it passes muster LOL - oh the background paper is actually a scallop edged transparency sitting against a white piece of paper but when you hold it up you can see right through it - you have to hold it to get the full effect. The flowers are Heidi Swapp stamped on transparency then backed with Basic Grey DP, the hearts are from Close to My Heart. The No Boundaries sticker is from somewhere LOL it wasn't in it's original package so I really have no idea. I did stick little pink rhinestones all over little heart and center of the flowers although you can't see them all that well. The white ribbon on the left is pleated on to white tuille and you can't see that either - man I really need to take another angle don't I? You are missing the whole effect. Hang on.....

tulle ribbon

rhinestones and edge of transparency paper

flowers on transparency backed by BG paper

How's that? Maybe you can get the gist through close ups!! LOL Enjoy!! Come over and play!!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday Blog Hop

All you need is Love.....
If you started HERE and came from HERE you are on the right road. You can return at any point to the beginning or pick up where you left off below.
The first Scrap and Stamp Saturday Blog Hop is about to begin. All the fun starts today at 10:00 a.m. HERE. One of the best things about playing along at Scrap and Stamp Saturday is the challenge of using your all too loved stamps with your scrap pages. Every page you see here will have a stamped image of some sort on it and it continues to challenge each of us to complete a page a week and hopefully it will encourage you as well. We love reading about you and your families and getting to know you better. We hope you will play along as we challenge you to get that album done!!

The Design Team was given this Sketch as inspiration:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I have really gotten into genealogy research and tracing my family ties back as far as I can go. This is my Grandma Florence's side of the family. Grandma unfortunately passed this last summer and I didn't get these photos so I have only the information that others have passed on to me. The top photo is of her parents and her with three of her six siblings the other two hadn't come along yet.

The second picture is of her parents - I am not sure who the other couple is but I am going to assume it is a sister/brother of my great grandmothers. I have spent quite a bit of time over the last three years researching the family lines and I included the side of her family (5 generations from Ancestry.com) for the next little researcher who comes along and wants to pick up the thread.

I did a loose translation of the sketch using a heart instead the star and because I had two bigger photos I decided to use that space for some romantic roses and pearls. I really love how this page turned out and especially all the meaning behind it.

To keep everyone excited I have added some goodies to win!! And if at any point you get lost along the way you can always return to Scrap and Stamp Saturday and find yourself on the map!

***please leave one comment here on your journey and I will draw one name randomly at the end of the Hop for the following RAK***

[Heidi Swapp stamps travel & clocks; Maya Road chipboard album; Prima Just Corina transparency; making Memories sheer frame Baby]

Now to get in on the Grand Prize you have to leave a comment on each blog along the way and make sure that you leave your info on the Challenge blog as well. Your next rest area will be at Isolde's and you will truly enjoy the scenery. And don't forget there are other giveaways too. So here's what you need to do:

Penny's Challenges is bringing you the love Baby!!!

Don't you think that Valentine's Day should be every day of the year? I mean you just can't beat a day full of love and chocolate!! I think that it is my new favorite holiday!

My hubby is a pretty mushy guy and I get tons of attention each and every day anyway but I'm thinking a world full of pink hearts, frilly lace, pretty perfumes and lots and lots of chocolate must be what Heaven is like. At least mine anyway. hehehe

Penny's Challenges is bringing you just that - you have just got to check out the design team's work today - you will get a warm fuzzy feeling from all the love being passed around. Hey now - this isn't Woodstock and free love, this is better!! LOL See ya around the blogosphere I'm going looking for more love.

All you need is love, la-la-la-la..........

I'm baaaa----aaaaaack!! Come out, come out wherever you are?......

I have new tread on my tires and my fingers are itching to get back in to the groove. My holiday coma is almost totally cleared away, my fingers are tripping the light fantastic on a new keyboard, my son is home from overseas, and we're supposed to get even more snow......oh wait I was talking happy dance stuff not back breaking shoveling stuff. hehehe

I have really been working hard on showcasing the images I work with lately rather than 'blinging' them all up - I know, I know everybody likes bling but I want to remember why I started stamping to begin with.....because it was easy and cheaper to make your own cards and it gave me that instant gratification that I needed to have completed something quickly that made people go "ahhhhhhh".

Please Note:  I have not gone completely insane - there is still some 'bling' on this card!!!
